Located adjacent to downtown Victoria, Esquimalt is a residential community (population 17,000) with extensive amenities including beautiful parks and beaches, scenic waterfront walkways as well as modern recreational facilities, schools and commercial services.

The Public Works Department is seeking motivated individuals to fill auxiliary Labourer 1 positions to perform various manual tasks such as: forming, screeding and finishing concrete; breaking and laying asphalt; digging trenches and laying sewer pipes; lifting and placing castings and pipes; emptying cans of refuse into garbage truck; cleaning sewer stations; and flagging traffic.

The ideal candidate will have partial high school education and a class 5 BC driver’s licence with experience using a variety of hand tools and power equipment such as compressors, jack hammers, cement mixers, drills, concrete saws and pipe cutters.
