Residents of Esquimalt and View Royal can drop off yard and garden waste at 605 Canteen Road
Hours of operation are Tuesday to Sunday from 8 am –5 pm. The facility is closed for statutory holidays.
This service is free to Esquimalt and View Royal residents. Please have proof of residency with you when you use this service. If you are a resident, and someone is assisting you by hauling your compost, you must accompany their vehicle to the compost facility and drop-off station.
Non-resident property owners hauling material from a residential or commercial property, even if the property is in Esquimalt or View Royal, will be charged a fee.
Residents of the municipality that operate a commercial hauling or lawn and garden business will also be charged a drop-off fee.

Yard and garden waste will no longer be accepted at Ellice Recycle Ltd. located at 524 David Street free of charge. Regular depot rates will apply at this location. Ellice is open 7 days per week excluding statutory holidays. Check website for hours of operation or call 250-386-4342.

- Branches up to 3” in diameter
- Grass clippings
- Soft garden materials
Not accepted:
- Rock
- Concrete
- Soils
