Out of School Care

Esquimalt Recreation Centre offers Out of School Care Programs licensed by the Vancouver Island Health Authority for School Aged Care. Children ages 5-12 (must be currently attending or completed kindergarten) are eligible to participate.

NOTICES & Program Availability

  • Applications for registration for the 2020-2021 school year for Out of School Care programs will be accepted as of April 8, 2020 to the Front Desk at Reception and must be received by April 22nd, 2020 to be processed in priority order:
  1. Current participants applying for exactly what they are currently registered in as of April 2020
  2. Current Before Care participants wanting After Care
  3. Siblings of current participants entering OSC
  4. 2019/2020 Preschool Participants
  5. New registrants

*After April 22, 2020 we will continue accepting applications for the waitlist

*** Due to limited space: 2019/2020 OSC Pro D Days, Winter Break Days, and Early Dismissal Days available to current OSC patron's only.***

Applications for the Pro D, Early Dismissal and Winter Break Camp Dates will be accepted starting June 19, 2019 at 10 AM and processed in the order of which they are received. These programs are currently only available to registered 2019/2020 OSC participants.  Applications for non-OSC registered families will be accepted starting September 9, 2019.

  • School Year Program (Macaulay School only)  - Before School Care: 6:30am-8:50am 
  • School Year Program (Macaulay School only)   - After School Care: 2:46pm-6:00pm
  • Pro-D Day Camps

  • Summer Break Camps

Monday to Friday 6:30am - 6:00pm

Affordable Childcare Benefit

Children with Disabilities or Require Extra Support: If your child requires extra support or qualifies for funding through Supported Child Development please contact the OSC Supervisor prior to registration by phone at 250-412-8512.


If your child carries an epi-pen or inhaler please complete the appropriate form or, if your child takes any other medication during program time please complete the appropriate Emergency Medical Care Form:
