LifeMark Esquimalt Run Popular with All Ages and Abilities

Hundreds of runners and walkers of all ages, abilities, and running experience will be crossing the finish line on March 16th for the 6th Annual LifeMark Esquimalt 5 km and Kids 1 km event. The 2013 race features a new and even more scenic route to accommodate the growing number of race participants. “This is a very scenic route,” said event organizer Melissa Wight. “We’re excited about the changes and I think participants will be as well.”

For registrants and those interested in participating, a warm-up run is scheduled for Sunday, March 10th at 10:30 a.m. to try out the new route with Esquimalt Recreation staff. All levels of runners and walkers are welcome. Meet at the Esquimalt Recreation Centre, located at 527 Fraser Street.

Race day information:

When: Saturday, March 16, 2013 (1 km Kids Fun Run 8:00 a.m., 5 km Run 8:30 a.m.)

Where: Esquimalt Recreation Centre, 527 Fraser Street

Price: 5 km race: $22, Kids 1 km race: $5

New this year: on-site child-minding during the race. Childcare hours are scheduled for 8:15 - 9:45 a.m. Pre-registration is required at a cost of $4 per child.
