Reporting to the Director of Public Works and Engineering, you will be responsible for managing operations programs and the human and technical resources necessary to run an efficient public works department.
You will possess organization, project management and cost estimation skills as well as an ability to write and implement the tendering process. You will have experience managing annual operational and capital budgets, as well as contract management experience, and developing and managing fleet replacement strategies.
A proven relationship builder and skillful communicator, you have demonstrated success in leading effective consultation with staff, managers and union representatives and you encourage a respectful workplace where change and new ideas are embraced. Equally important, you are a person who strives to “make things happen”.
You hold a diploma in civil engineering technology as well as considerable management experience in an engineering or public works environment, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
