Esquimalt’s 14th annual 5km and Kids 1km Fun Run will be taking place Saturday, April 15. Please use extra caution and note that short term road closures will be in effect 8:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m along the course route.
The Kids 1KM event will start at 9:00 a.m and is an out and back route down Lyall street from Bullen Park to Macaulay Elementary School and back.
Please be aware that Lyall Street will be closed between Admirals Street and Lampson Street from 8:45am-10:45am on event day. There will be no street parking on Lyall Street from Lampson to Admirals from 5:00 p.m Friday, April 14th to 11:00 a.m Saturday, April 15.
Drivers accessing the Archie Browning Sports Centre during the event are asked to enter via Esquimalt Road. Please avoid the Lyall Street entrance to the facility rear lot between 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Alternative modes of transportation are always encouraged as parking is limited at the Archie Browning Sports Centre.
The scenic route includes parts of Saxe Point Park and Macaulay Point Park. Esquimalt Parks and Recreation anticipates most participants will be on park trails during the following times:
• Macaulay Point Park - 9:35 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
• Saxe Point Park - 9:40 a.m. to 10:25 a.m.
For the safety of participants and pets, park users walking their dogs at Macaulay Point Park in the unleashed areas are kindly requested to leash up their pets during the event.
