About our Organization:

The Esquimalt Recreation Centre is a multi-purpose wellness and community recreation facility. Features of the Recreation Centre include: 4500 + square foot Wellness Centre, featuring state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, gymnasium, aquatic centre with six-lane 25 metre lap pool, warm “lifestyle pool” and tot pool with spray features, wheelchair accessible hot-tub, steam room, and sauna. In addition, to recreation activities and programs, there are hundreds of year-round community programs to choose from.

About the Opportunity:

The Recreation Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill a Regular Part-Time Reception Leader position. Reporting to the Reception Programmer, the successful candidate will perform daily cash handling duties along with administration of cash floats, balancing daily cash and related transactions, and preparing cash summaries and bank deposits. The Reception Leader will also assist the Reception Programmer with coaching, mentoring, training, and daily supervision of reception staff, and performing administrative support to Parks and Recreation Staff. 

Our Preferred Candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and provide strong and effective communication to all program areas. Additional qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 1-year related experience (may be a combination of education and experience) including at least 6-months providing customer service and cash handling 
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Demonstrate multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment with a keen attention to detail
  • Completion of High School Diploma
  • Basic office, computer, and bookkeeping training (3 months)
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector check

Salary: $30.10 – $32.41 hourly plus benefits

Hours per week: average 24 hours per week, maximum 35 hours
