Earth Week 2020: Focus on climate change (Day 3)

Earth Week 2020

April 22: Kids' Activities brought to you by Esquimalt Preschool !

This week, our fantastic preschool teachers are bringing us some great interactive videos for young children to learn about Earth Day:

Video 1:  When a Tree Grows

In this video Teacher Becca welcomes us with a song and reads us the story entitled "When a Tree Grows".  Find out what happens when we plant trees and help our environment stay healthy.  During our annual Earth Day celebrations we remove invasive and unhealthy trees and plant several new trees in the park every year!

Video 2: Earth Day Discussion and Craft

Teacher Irina and Teacher Becca discuss what Earth Day means to them and their favourite things about going outside!  We encourage you to join in and participate with your kids and make some nature art with us!  Use whatever colours you like and help create your own version of planet earth!  Equipment needed: different colours of paint, paper plates, and  an old salad spinner!  Good luck with your creations!  We would love to see what you create, post on our facebook page in the comments to show us your at home creations!

Teacher Becca and Teacher Irina have also compiled some activities you can with your family while you are staying physically distant.  Try them out with your family today, you can find them HERE!

We hope you have a fantastic Earth Day!
