The Archie Browning Sports Centre is a multi-use facility, which includes an ice arena, a six-sheet curling rink, lounge areas, and the Township of Esquimalt Parks and Recreation Administrative Office.

About the Opportunity:

The Recreation Department is seeking motivated individuals to fill multiple auxiliary bartender positions, reporting to the Community Development Programmer. This is a seasonal position, running from mid-September to mid-March, with daytime, evening, weekday, and weekend shifts available. There will be a mandatory pre-season training shift in early September. 

Our Preferred Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have completed a Bartender Course, or have previous bartending experience, and hold a valid Serving it Right Certification. 

Other qualifications include:

  • Cash handling experience

  • Proficiency with computers

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Clean Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector check. 

Salary: $21.18 – $22.90 hourly ($18.58 - $20.09 plus 14% in lieu of benefits - 2024 rates)

Hours: Shifts vary in length from 2 – 8 hours. Daytime, evening, weekday, and weekend shifts available
