Mayor Desjardins issued the following statement in acknowledgement of yesterday's shooting at a bank in Saanich and resulting law enforcement response:
The Township of Esquimalt wants to thank the brave men and women of Saanich and Victoria police departments for their selfless actions taken to protect the public yesterday. Our thoughts are with you and your families through this time. It is through your work that this type of incident is rare in our region and we are deeply grateful.
