Summer Stories in the Park

    Join Esquimalt’s Parks and Recreation staff for story time in the park. These stories are intended for children ages 3-6, but all are welcome. These stories will focus on environmental education and will be followed by a nature walk in Macaulay Point Park. Parent or caregiver supervision is required. Help your little ones gain an appreciation for nature, reading, and Esquimalt's beautiful parks. 

    The July 28th story is Welcome, Rain! written by Sheryl McFarlane and illustrated by Christine Wei. Welcome, Rain! Encourages kids to play outside, even in the rain. It also explains the importance of different kinds of weather. This joyful book helps kids appreciate all the seasons. 

    Local author Sheryl McFarlane is an acclaimed authour who has written several children's books. Christine Wei is  a Taiwanese illustrator based in Canada. Her bright art brings this book to life.
