Residents are reminded that Esquimalt’s fire rating is now HIGH in accordance with the Coastal Fire Centre's rating for Southern Vancouver Island. Please be fire smart around your property and in public areas such as parks and fields.
Smokers should also be aware that the CRD's Clean Air Bylaw is in effect throughout the region. This bylaw makes all parks, playgrounds, playing fields, public squares and bus stops smoke-free and extends the smoke-free buffer zone outside of doorways, windows and air intakes from three metres to seven metres.
