Esquimalt, B.C—The Township is undergoing a community brand project. The goal of the project is to create a unifying brand that boosts economic growth, enhances reputation, encourages civic engagement and fosters community pride.

To ensure the new imagery and messaging reflects the community, the public is invited to attend an open house focusing on gathering opinions from the perspective of community members who live in, work in, and visit Esquimalt.

Community members will have the opportunity to have a say in the new brand name, slogan, colours, and much more. These elements will be used in street banners, signages, swag, posters, ads, and many other materials to promote and enhance Esquimalt awareness. The project is not looking to change the Township logo, but rather to enhance the overall community brand.

The open houses are set for Wednesday March 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday March 14, from 11 am to 12:30 pm at Esquimalt Recreation Centre, located at 527 Fraser St, Esquimalt.

Light refreshments will be provided. Guests will be able to chat with neighbours and township staff over coffee and snacks while giving their opinion on the work done so far. Posterboards with be set up for discussion with an online version available as well at EngagingEsquimalt.ca/CommunityBrand after March 13.
