Esquimalt Active Park Grand Opening on April 17th

The Township of Esquimalt will be holding an official opening of Esquimalt Active Park on Tuesday April 17th at 11:00 am.

When: Tuesday April 17th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
Where: Esquimalt Active Park, located at 525 Fraser Street in Esquimalt (near the Esquimalt Recreation Centre)

The media and public are invited to attend this event.

Esquimalt Mayor Barbara Desjardins will be in attendance along with Debora Linehan, Regional Vice President for RBC, South Vancouver Island.

A tour of the park and demonstration of the fitness equipment will be offered, and Esquimalt Parks and Recreation will be announcing a new program called e=SeniorFit, a free 6-week program led by Esquimalt fitness trainers that includes a gentle workout routine and step-by-step instruction on the safe and effective use of all outdoor fitness pieces in Esquimalt Active Park.

The Esquimalt Active Park has been made possible through funding from the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program, the Age-friendly BC grant program, a partnership between the Province of British Columbia and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM), the Healthy Families BC Walking Challenge and the Royal Bank of Canada.
