The Eat Well, Get Moving! program is underway throughout Greater Victoria, and interested schools and teachers are invited to register their classes now. Eat Well, Get Moving! is a health promotion program that encourages elementary school students to eat more vegetables and fruit and to be more active.

Students are given Crunch & Go cards to track the number of vegetables and fruit they eat along with minutes spent being active. At the end of each month, cards are collected for entry into a draw for prizes. The school with the highest participation rate at the end of the program receives a grand prize to support their school in remaining active and healthy year round.

Participants can start any time within the three-month period, but organizers encourage participation throughout the duration of the program.

The program was developed and is implemented each year through a partnership among municipal recreation centres in Greater Victoria, the YMCA-YWCA of Greater Victoria and the Vancouver Island Health Authority Nutrition Program.
