The Township of Esquimalt Engineering Department will be holding a second Open House to gather public input into the final design of the Admirals Road Corridor Improvement Project.

When: Thursday, November 21st, 2013, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Engineering staff will be on hand to present the revised project plan for the corridor.
Among the innovations being considered for the project are a grade separated bike lane and changing street lighting to energy efficient LED technology from standard high pressure sodium. Construction is expected to begin in the late spring of 2014.
The Admirals Road Corridor Improvement Project will improve the busy commuter route between Maplebank Road and Lyall Street with the addition of bike lanes, a two-way left turn lane, median islands, and street lighting upgrades. Sidewalks will also be improved to facilitate pedestrian access. Protection of local waterways will be enhanced with the installation of stormwater treatment devices and the separation of combined manholes for storm and sanitary collection systems.
The project is proceeding thanks to a $2.8 million contribution from the Government of Canada through the Gas Tax Fund for municipal infrastructure priorities.
