Do you want to share your passion for gardening with the community? From quaint to extensively manicured to urban farms, we invite Esquimalt Residents to showcase their garden on the 2019 Bloomin' Beautiful Community Garden Tour.
The 2019 tour date has been set for Saturday, June 15th so if you think that will be your "thyme" to shine, please take a moment to complete the application form below and upload 1-2 photos of your property.
Apply to Be A Tour Host
Within two business days of applying, our team will be in touch to arrange a property visit to determine eligibility for the 2019 Tour. After all gardens have been visited, selections will be made. We anticipate notifying applicants by May 1st. Those selected will receive a gift card from a local business valued at $50 in appreciation for their involvement. Participants on the tour will vote for their favourite as "People's Choice Garden." The People's Choice Garden Winner will also receive a $100 gift card.
What's Involved in Hosting a Tour Stop
Five gardens will be carefully selected. On the tour, 24 tour participants will be shuttled by bus to your property at a designated time for a 25-30-minute visit. During the visit, we encourage tour hosts to:
- welcome the bus upon arrival;
- share stories behind their garden (the transformation, lessons learned, your approach), before and after photos (if available), environmental accommodations/practice (as applicable), etc. and;
- be available to answer questions tour participants might have.
