About the Opportunity:

The Human Resources Department is seeking a motivated individual for the full-time Human Resources Coordinator position. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Human Resources, the HR Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the department, providing guidance to employees on HR matters, including Occupational Health and Safety, and delivering essential administrative support across all HR functions. The role requires strong organizational and time-management skills, the ability to work independently, and a high level of discretion and problem-solving ability. 

Key responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, and probationary review processes. Maintains accurate HR records, personnel files, training certifications, and compliance documentation, including WorkSafeBC and disability claim records. Prepares HR correspondence, reports, and confidential materials, including union related documentation. Compiles statistical and compliance reports and maintains HR templates, resources, and intranet content. Coordinates HR programs, training initiatives, and committee meetings, including JOHSC and labour-management. Responds to HR inquiries and provides service to employees and managers. Supports collective bargaining preparation and performs general HR and office administrative duties.

Our Preferred Candidate:

Our ideal candidate will have one year of relevant post-secondary education, and a minimum three years of related  experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other preferred qualifications include:

  • Strong administrative skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff
  • Strong written communications skills and record-keeping skills
  • Working knowledge of HR principles and practices, with practical application in an organizational setting preferred.

  • Experience with databases, online systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred
