Sewers and Drains
Esquimalt’s Engineering and Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of municipal storm and sanitary sewers.
If you see a problem involving sewers and drains, please call us at 250-414-7108 during office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday). We are also on call 7 days per week and 24 hours per day to deal with emergencies.
- After-hours emergency (Mon-Fri 4:30 pm to 8:30 am / weekends & holidays) please call 250-995-7654, option 1. This is the VicPD non-emergency line- they will relay information to the appropriate Esquimalt staff.
- Owners are responsible for sewer and drain laterals on their (private) property and within private easements. Learn more.

Sanitary Sewer Asset Management Plan
The Sanitary Sewer Asset Management Plan is a comprehensive, 20-year guide for managing the sewer network according to best practices.

Storm Sewer Asset Management Plan
The purpose of the plan is to build off the previous studies and inspections, and provide a roadmap for the Township to efficiently manage the storm sewer assets. The scope of the project included infrastructure planning, stormwater quality, and operations and maintenance practices.

For all servicing questions related to subdivision, please contact the Development Services Department at 250-414-7108. An appointment will be arranged with one of the municipal planners and engineers, if applicable, to discuss the proposed development.
