April 21: Virtual Tour of Highrock Park

Highrock Park is the highest point of land in Esquimalt. At 71 metres in elevation, it offers 360 degree views of the Capital Region, downtown Victoria, the Sooke Hills and the Olympic Mountains.

This 7.1 hectare park features glaciated knolls, and native plants such as sword ferns, blue camas and dotted among stands of Garry oaks, arbutus and Douglas fir. Nature appreciation, bird watching, hiking and dog walking are the popular activities in this park.

While we are remaining social connected but physically distant, Township of Esquimalt Parks Arborist, Noah, is leading you on a virtual tour of Highrock Park. The next time you visit the park, keep an eye out for the Garry Oak, snowberry, nursing logs and numerous other elements of this remarkable ecosystem Noah highlights:
