The water mains that deliver drinking water to the Township of Esquimalt are flushed annually to remove sediment. These water mains are owned and maintained by the City of Victoria. Heavy precipitation caused combined stormwater and wastewater overflows along some shorelines in Greater Victoria on January 29, 2018.
