Flags at Esquimalt Municipal Hall and all facilities and parks have been lowered to half-mast in memory of former Esquimalt Mayor Ron Warder, who died on April 11, 2018. There will be controlled blasting at the Esquimalt Town Square construction site over the next two weeks. Drilling for load placement began on Tuesday, April 17, and blasting is schedule to begin Wednesday, April 25th. Flags at Esquimalt Municipal Hall and the Public Safety Building have been lowered to half-mast in memory of VicPD Constable Ian Jordan.
