The new chargers will be in addition to the existing four chargers at the Pavilion.

The Capital Regional District (CRD) is installing three new Level 2 chargers in the main parking lot at Esquimalt Gorge Park.  This is in addition to the four chargers currently installed.

The initiative aims to support the transition to low-carbon transportation by improving the availability and convenience of public EV charging across the region. The CRD is partnering with several municipalities to increase the network of public charging stations. The project is supported through joint investment from the federal and provincial government through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Fund and the CleanBC Communities Fund.

The installation will take place during the week of November 9; the parking lot will remain open outside the construction area.

The new chargers are being installed a few weeks after six new Level 3 chargers were added to Archie Browning Sports Centre.

Esquimalt Gorge Park is frequented by neighbours and visitors from the region. The park is accessible by protected active transportation routes, trails, bus and car.

The new chargers support the township's climate action priorities by adding capacity for electrified vehicles in the municipality.
