Public Notice Survey

The Township of Esquimalt Council is considering modernising the way it distributes Statutory Public Notices to maximize the number of residents it reaches.

Community feedback is requested via a survey that is available now through February 29, 2024 both online and in paper versions.

Recent revisions to the Community Charter provide additional options for the Township of Esquimalt to notify the public about a variety of matters including, but not limited to, public hearings, official community plan amendments, land disposition, Council’s annual meeting schedule, and election notices. These notices help raise community awareness of these matters and outline how the public may provide input to Council to help inform their decision-making.

Community participation in processes that require statutory notice is a key part of a local government's democratic system, so we invite you to let us know your preferred method of communication.

Hard copies of the survey are available at the Esquimalt Municipal Hall at 1229 Esquimalt Road through the Corporate Services Department.
