Community Consultation

An Official Community Plan (OCP) aims to reflect the collective vision of the community for the future. For this reason it's important that we hear from residents, businesses and visitors to Esquimalt.

A public hearing on the proposed OCP was held on May 28, 2018. The OCP was adopted on June 25, 2018.

Age-Friendly Assessment

In Spring 2016 the Township conducted an age-friendly assessment to ensure older adults in the community are supported to live active, socially engaged, and independent lives. The assessment recommends age-friendly goals, objectives and policies for the review of Esquimalt’s Official Community Plan.

Kick Off Survey

In Fall 2015 the Township conducted the OCP Review Kick Off survey. Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey. We received 539 responses to the survey with 83% of respondents being Esquimalt residents. The kick off survey will help to identify some key community priorities to focus on early in the review process, as well as provide valuable information on how to collect public input in the future.
