The Capital Regional District (CRD) is helping Esquimalt residents participate in Fix a Leak Week.

This year Fix a Leak Week takes place March 16 - 22 and serves to remind homeowners about the best practices for annually detecting and repairing leaks. These small household checks and repairs can make a big difference in saving water and potentially lowering your water bill.

Did you know that, according to the Capital Regional District, the most common leaky household fixtures are faucets, showerheads, pipes, irrigation systems, and toilets

During Fix-a-Leak Week, you can pick up a free CRD leak detection kit at Municipal Hall and the Esquimalt Recreation Centre.

All leak detection kits include:
  • Toilet dye tab
  • Low-flow faucet aerator
  • A bag to measure the flow rate of the showerhead
  • A tag to identify the emergency water shut-off
  • A household guide to water efficiency

Kits are available Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Municipal Hall (1229 Esquimalt Road) and Esquimalt Recreation Centre from 5:30am to 10:30PM. Learn more on the CRD website.
