Tuesday South Side Route - Pickup Delay Due to Truck Mechanical Issue
One of the Township of Esquimalt's garbage trucks is out of service due to mechanical failure. Our Township crew will be collecting Monday North route and collect part of the Tuesday North route. Any unserviced Tuesday North residences will have pickup resume on Wednesday, October 15. Residents are asked to keep their waste bins at the curbside until they have been collected.
Thanksgiving Holiday Garbage Collection Schedule
- Regular scheduled Monday, October 13 collection will be picked up on Tuesday, October 14.
- No other routes will be affected by the holiday.
- Reminder to please have waste bins at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. on collection day to avoid missed pick up.

The Esquimalt Public Works Department manages garbage collection in the Township 
of Esquimalt.
Garbage and organic waste are collected every two weeks from residential properties in Esquimalt. Please have your bins out at curbside and accessible by 7 a.m. on collection day.

Recycling: CRD Curbside Blue Box Program
The Capital Regional District manages residential pick-up of blue box recycling in Esquimalt. Find out more about the CRD'S Blue Box Program, including up-to-date schedules and acceptable materials, at www.crd.bc.ca/bluebox. At the site you can also download a smartphone app to sign up for text, email and phone reminders.
You can also phone the CRD Recycling Hotline at 250-360-3030 for more information. Contact GFL Environmental to request a new or replacement CRD blue box or blue bag and to report missed recycling collection at 236-470-0186.

The Hartland landfill is owned and operated by the CRD. Many recyclable and reusable materials are accepted for free, and other materials are pay-by-weight. Learn more.
