Holly brings a long connection to Esquimalt to her role as Councillor, having worked for the Township for ten years and served in community leadership roles with the Esquimalt Chamber of Commerce, the Esquimalt Farmers Market, and the Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board. She holds a Masters degree in Human Rights and is particularly interested in creative approaches to public consultation that bring diverse perspectives into the conversation and give residents a meaningful, informed say in decisions.
Outside Council, Holly is a Realtor who loves adventurous travel, a good book, golf, curling, and renovation projects with her dad. She is happiest exploring somewhere unfamiliar, spending time in nature or hanging out with her much-loved rescue dog, Cedar. She loves baby goats and waterfalls and hates peas. She also gardens, although the plants might describe that relationship differently.
Holly is curious, practical, and happy to ask the question everyone else might be thinking. She enjoys having her thinking challenged and finding creative ways to get things done. She is particularly interested in public consultation that brings different perspectives together and gives residents a meaningful, informed say. She wants local government to feel approachable, with decisions clearly explained and room for people to contribute without needing a minor in municipal procedure.
