The public is invited as VicPD presents its provisional budget to a joint meeting of the Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board and Victoria and Esquimalt Councils on Wednesday, November 4th.
Police Board member Jim Witter will provide opening remarks and Chief Constable Frank Elsner and Controller Scott Seivewright will present the 2016 provisional budget.
“Included in our budget will be our plan to pilot a project which will address some of the very serious mental health issues we see each day in both of our communities,” said Chief Constable Elsner. “We anticipate this pilot project, if approved, will assist in providing holistic mental health services to those in real need, while relieving some of the burden on our officers so we can concentrate our efforts on areas most important to you.”
