UPDATED: Fire in Esquimalt residence affects two families

Esquimalt, BC- The Esquimalt Fire Department, View Royal Fire Department, CFB Esquimalt Fire Department and Esquimalt Emergency Social Services responded to a call from dispatch at 4:08 p.m. yesterday to a fire at a multi-family residence at Glengarry Place. Fire crews and two volunteers from Esquimalt Emergency Social Services responded.

Two families were affected.  Per emergency response, the families are provided with three nights hotel, clothing, groceries and incidentals. Red Cross will be contracted on Wednesday, April 21 for supplementary support. There were no injuries and the building is being assessed for damages in cooperation with the owner and insurance providers. The cause is still under investigation. Donations to the families can be made through the Esquimalt Firefighters Charitable Foundation.
