Help us capture today for tomorrow!

We are creating an Archives Time Capsule to be sealed in 2025 and opened in 2050 — 25 years from now!
This capsule will preserve a snapshot of our Township’s & community’s present-day life, stories, and spirit for future generations to rediscover.

We invite community members, local organizations, and township staff to contribute a small piece of Esquimalt today — a reflection of who we are in this moment.

What you can contribute

You may submit one or more of the following:

•    A photograph (print copy) showing Esquimalt daily life, workplaces, homes, or community events.
•    A short letter or note to future residents or staff.
•    A creative piece — artwork, poem, postcard, or other expression of our times.
Please include a brief description of your contribution:
•    Your name or organization (optional if you prefer anonymity).
•    A short note explaining why you chose this item and what it represents about life in 2025.

Submission details

Where: Archives Office, During Archives Open House on November 19, 2025
All accepted contributions will be safely enclosed in the Time Capsule and documented in our archives to be opened in 2050.

Why participate?

Your contribution will become part of our shared history — a message across time to the people who will stand where we stand today, 25 years from now. Together, we can leave a legacy that connects generations.
