Flags at municipal facilities are being flown at half-mast in honour of Chief Robert Sam of the Songhees First Nation, who passed away on Monday, July 9th.
A traditional prayer service for Chief Sam will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Songhees Nation Longhouse, located at 6 Maplebank Rd.
A memorial service will be held the following day at the longhouse at 9:30 a.m.
Flags will return to full-mast on Monday, July 16th.
