Honouring veterans

We acknowledge the many contributions and sacrifices of those who participated in military and peacekeeping efforts across the globe. 

Aboriginal Veterans Day is on November 8 and Remembrance Day is on November 11. The township is lowering the flags on both days from 8 a.m.–noon, as it customary.

 

Remembrance Day schedule changes

  • The yard and garden dropoff will be closed November 11 and reopen on Friday at 8 a.m.
  • South side residents who normally have their garbage collected on Thursday will have their garbage collected on Friday November 12, along with the regularly scheduled Friday pickup. No other routes will be affected by the holiday. 
  • The recreation centre will be open however programs are cancelled on November 11. 
  • The municipal hall and archives will be closed.
