Funeral Procession for Victoria's 31st Fire Chief

On May 12, 2017, retired Victoria Fire Chief Doug Angrove lost his battle to brain cancer. A procession followed by a public funeral at the Archie Browning Sports Centre curling rink in Esquimalt will be held the afternoon of Saturday, June 24 to honour Victoria’s 31st Fire Chief.

The funeral procession will commence at 1 p.m. from the parking lot on the corner of Lyall Street and Canteen Road and will proceed east on Lyall Street to the Archie Browning Sports Centre. The procession will include the Victoria Fire Department’s uniformed personnel, Honour Guard and firefighting apparatus. Local and out-of-town uniformed emergency responders in attendance will be involved in the procession. A rolling street closure will be provided by the Victoria Police.
