As part of Fire Prevention Week October 4-10, Domino’s Pizza and the Esquimalt Fire Department are partnering to reward Esquimalt residents who have working smoke alarms in their homes with free pizza.

On Saturday, October 10th, when Esquimalt residents in single family homes, duplexes and townhouses call Domino’s Pizza at 250-405-2858 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., they may find their pizza is delivered aboard a fire truck.

With the customer’s permission, firefighters can also inspect household smoke alarms to make sure they are working. Those with functioning smoke alarms will get their pizza for free.

If a home smoke alarm requires new batteries, firefighters will also provide and replace the batteries. The Esquimalt Fire Department may also arrange for a return visit to install a smoke alarm for residents who require and qualify for free installation.

This is the first year the Esquimalt Fire Department has partnered with Domino’s Pizza in Esquimalt to reward customers with the potential for a free pizza during Fire Prevention Week. This year’s campaign, “Hear the Beep Where You Sleep: Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm,” stresses the importance of having a working smoke alarm in your home.
