The Township of Esquimalt is pleased to announce that Ian Irvine has been hired as its new Chief Financial Officer and Director of Financial Services. Ian will commence his duties Monday, September 10th, 2012. The position has been vacant since March of 2012.
Ian is a Certified Public Accountant who brings an impressive track record to his new position. Ian most recently worked for Thrifty Foods in Victoria as Manager of Audit, Compliance and ERM. Before this, he held analyst and auditor positions with the ATCO Group, and Deloitte and Touche LLP, both based in Calgary. From 2001 to 2005, Ian was based in Victoria as a Financial and Performance Auditor for the Province of BC’s Office of the Auditor General.
“We are very happy to have Ian on our management team,” said Chief Administrative Officer Laurie Hurst. “With his extensive background in accounting as well as audits and risk management, I believe we will be a stronger organization and better able to meet new challenges as we deliver quality services and programs to residents.”
