The Township of Esquimalt is about to conduct a comprehensive community accessibility assessment audit of all Municipal buildings, Parks and Recreation facilities as well as local businesses using a Grant from the provincial Measuring Up Fund/2010 Legacies Now.

The purpose of the study is to develop a comprehensive strategy to make the Township of Esquimalt accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities. This study will help make the Township of Esquimalt, a model community for accessibility and inclusiveness.

The conducting of an accessibility audit was recommended to Council by the Esquimalt Access Awareness Committee. The Access Awareness Committee was formed in 2007 to make Esquimalt more accessible to its citizens. For more information on this committee please click here.
