In response to the evacuation of residents living on Glen Vale Road, Garthland Place and Garthland Road, as well as on portions of the 1100 block of Craigflower Road, an Emergency Social Services' Reception Centre has been set up at the Esquimalt Recreation Centre at 527 Fraser Street. The Esquimalt Recreation Centre can be reached at 250-412-8500.
Earlier this afternoon hazardous materials were discovered in a home on Garthland Road. Esquimalt Fire Department crews are on site as well as a provincial hazardous materials crew.
