Esquimalt residents and commuters are advised that construction activities continue on Phase 2 of the Craigflower Road Corridor Upgrade Project. Phase 2 comprises the section of Craigflower Road from Garthland Road to Admirals Road.
It is anticipated that single-lane traffic will be maintained in each direction throughout the project, with isolated single-lane alternating traffic as required. A 30 km per hour construction zone speed limit is in effect. Motorists are advised to keep an eye out for construction workers and public works crews.
Phase 2 of the Craigflower Road project coincides with an upgrading of Old Island Highway in View Royal, so commuters can expect to experience delays over the next few months.
The Craigflower Road project includes bicycle lanes in each direction, continuous sidewalks on both sides, and median islands for traffic calming.
The project is expected to be completed in October 2010
