The Rainbow Kitchen is welcoming donations to support this year’s holiday initiative.
The initiative proposes to provide “gifts” to guests attending their holiday meal on December 24 that would include items of necessity to help brighten the holiday season for those in need.
The Rainbow Kitchen is a valuable member of this community, supporting anyone in need by facilitating food security programming. Please consider showing them your support this holiday season by donating. A list of suggested donations can be found below, but they welcome any personally inspired contributions as well.
- Cash contribution to assist with providing a holiday meal
- Each meal costs $3 per guest x 250 guests x 2 meals = $1,500
- Warm socks
- Items for children (toys, colouring books and crayons, as well as books)
- Hygiene products (deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, combs, female sanitary products, toilet paper, etc.)
- Warm hats and scarves
- Small flashlights
- Canned goods
- Chocolate and sweets
- Tins of coffee and packages of tea
- Gift cards (Tim Hortons, McDonalds, etc.)
- Reusable tote bags in which guests can utilize for their Christmas gifts as well as for the collection of produce and meals
- Folding umbrellas
- Warm blankets
