The Township of Esquimalt and its CUPE employees delivered an estimated 2200 pounds of donated food to the Esquimalt Neighbourhood House over the past week as part of the 19th Annual Christmas Food Drive.

Donations for the food drive were collected from generous residents during regularly scheduled garbage pickup days in December. Residents also donated food items through collection bins that were located at Municipal Hall, the Esquimalt Recreation Centre, Archie Browning Sports Centre, and the Public Works Yard.

On December 20th, Acting Mayor Meagan Brame, Councillor Lynda Hundleby and Public Works employees were on hand to deliver food bins to the society, which promotes health, education and support services within the community.

Thank you to Esquimalt residents for your donations of food and to everyone involved in our 2018 Christmas Food Drive. Food bins will be located in municipal facilities until Monday, December 24th, 2018.
