Ted Olynyk of BC Hydro presents a cheque for $3500 to Mayor Barbara Desjardins and Councillor Meagan Brame.

On Monday, September 12th BC Hydro donated $3500 to the Township of Esquimalt in support of its ETAG (Esquimalt Together Against Graffiti) program. The money will go to help with graffiti removal from BC Hydro power poles and other equipment in the Township.

BC Hydro Vancouver Island community relations manager Ted Olynyk presented the cheque to Mayor Barbara Desjardins and Councillor Meagan Brame, Council representative for ETAG. The presentation was made in front of a power kiosk wrapped in anti-graffiti laminate on Grafton Street.

“A big thanks to our community partner BC Hydro for donating these funds," said Mayor Barbara Desjardins. "They will be used by staff members and our dedicated ETAG volunteers to continue to beautify our streets and other public areas in the Township.”

Since 2004, the Township has received some $31,000 from BC Hydro to fight graffiti.
