Happy holidays!
Our hours vary between December 25 and January 1. If you need assistance during those times, there are also several services you can find online.
- The Esquimalt Municipal Hall will be closed December 25 to January 1.
- If you are calling with a Public Works emergency on Monday December 28 to Wednesday December 31 between 7am and 3pm, please call Public Works at 250-414-7108
- If you are calling with a Public Works emergency outside of those hours, please call the after-hours number at 250-995-7654 (this is the VicPD non-emergency line and they will contact the relevant staff)
- VicPD non-emergency can be reached at 250-995-7654 for non-emergency police matters
- Bylaw complaints can be sent via our bylaw complaint form
Esquimalt recreation programs have some changes: see our schedules.
Archie Browning Arena
The arena is closed from December 24 until January 4 for the Curl BC Championships .
Recreation centre hours
- December 24 - 5:30am-4:00pm
- December 25 - 1-4pm
- December 26 - 5:30am-10:30pm
- December 31 - 5:30am-4:00pm

Garbage schedules can be found online.
North Side Route
- Thursday, December 25 will have their garbage collected on Monday, December 29.
Friday, December 26 will have their garbage collected on Monday, December 29.
South Side Route
- Monday, December 29 will have their garbage collected on Tuesday, December 30
Thursday, January 1 will have their garbage collected on Friday, January 2.
Reminder: Please have garbage and kitchen scraps bins out at curbside and accessible by 7:00 a.m.
The yard and garden waste transfer station is closed statutory holidays.
Archives will be closed December 23-January 1.
