2012 Permissive Tax Exemptions Applications due no later than August 31, 2011

The Corporation of the Township of Esquimalt is now receiving applications for 2012 Permissive Tax Exemptions pursuant to its Permissive Tax Exemption Policy.  Completed applications must be received no later than August 31, 2011. 

Your request should include:

  • a copy of your most recent financial statements (preferably audited);
  • a description of the programs, services and benefits delivered from your premises in Esquimalt including participant numbers, volunteer hours, benefiting groups, individuals and special needs populations, and fees charged; and,
  • any third party use of the premises.

Additional material that you feel will assist Council in evaluating your request may also be submitted. 

Please note that the Permissive Tax Exemption Policy requires that first time petitioners and those organizations whose function has substantially changed from the previous year appear before Council to make a presentation no longer than five minutes in order to be considered.  The committee meeting which will consider the applications is scheduled for September 13, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Esquimalt Municipal Hall Council Chambers at 1229 Esquimalt Road.  Applicants will be notified of the date and time in the first week of September.
