The story on July 7th is Tokyo Digs a Garden written by Jon-Erik Lappano and illustrated by Helen Hatanaka.
This beautifully illustrated children's book takes us on a journey with Tokyo and his cat, Kevin. When a mysterious old woman gives Tokyo some seeds, he grows a forest so large it takes over the city. The result is a thoughtful and inspiring fable of environmentalism and imagination.
Tokyo Digs a Garden is by a Canadian author and won a Governor General's Literary Award for Young People's Literature.
