Welcome to the Community Planting Party at Esquimalt Gorge Park!
Join us in planting native vegetation along the upland riparian area, where the water meets the land.
Together, we will help improve ecosystem health, create valuable habitat for fish and wildlife, and protect against flooding and erosion along the Gorge Waterway.
This event welcomes members of diverse communities who wish to strengthen their connection to nature and their community, including People of Colour, Indigenous peoples, 2SLGBTQ+ folk, persons with disabilities and other functional or access needs, new immigrants, women, seniors, and youth.
We welcome all skill levels, ages, and abilities - no experience necessary!
Bring your friends and family along for an afternoon of planting, community-building, and learning. Guidance, tools, gloves, and light snacks are provided. Please bring a water bottle and wear weather-appropriate shoes and clothing.
This event is part of the Stewardship Centre for BC's Greenspace for All initiative and the Green Shores for Shoreline Development (GSSD) Demonstration Project at Esquimalt Gorge Park, organized by the Stewardship Centre for BC, Township of Esquimalt, Gorge Waterway Action Society, and World Fisheries Trust.
For questions and accommodation requests, please contact Ariadne, Project Coordinator, at [email protected].
See you there!🌱
