Traffic Advisory: Short Term Road Closures in Effect April 8 During Esquimalt 5K

Esquimalt's Annual 5K community run event will be taking place Saturday, April 8th, 2017. Please use extra caution and note that short term road closures will be in effect 8:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. along the course route.

The most significant closure will take place on Lyall Street from Fraser to Lampson. Please be advised this section of Lyall will be closed from approximately 8:55 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. during the children’s 1K and the start of the 5K event. Driver's accessing the Archie Browning Sports Centre during the event are asked to enter off of Esquimalt Road; please avoid using the Lyall Street entrance to the rear lot from 8:55 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The route also includes sections of Macaulay Point Park and Saxe Point Park. Esquimalt Parks and Recreation anticipates most event traffic to be on the trails in the parks:
•    Macaulay Point Park: 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
•    Saxe Point Park: 9:35 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

For the safety of participants and pets, park users walking their dogs at Macaulay Point Park in the unleashed areas are kindly requested to leash up their pets during the event.

Please also be advised that there will be no street parking on Lyall Street from Lampson to Fraser 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 7th to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8th.
