The Esquimalt Celebration of Lights Parade takes place on Sunday, December 2nd.
The parade begins at 5:00 p.m., travelling down Esquimalt Road from Canteen Road to the Archie Browning Sports Centre rear parking lot. Residents and commuters should expect delays and may wish to plan alternate routes from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Please be advised:
- Esquimalt Road will be closed from 601 Esquimalt Road (Esquimalt & Canteen) to 1151 Esquimalt Road (Archie Browning Sports Centre).
- Local traffic only will be permitted south-bound on Admirals Road at the Admirals & Colville Road intersection between 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. A detour will be in effect at this location, directing traffic to Lampson Street.
- A “left only” exit will be in place leaving the Esquimalt Recreation Centre with traffic being detoured from Fraser Street to Lyall and onto Lampson.
- Esquimalt Shopping Plaza merchants will be directed to exit the lot through the rear lot of the Archie Browning Sports Centre and are asked to use extreme caution with a high volume of pedestrians in the area.
Limited event parking is available at the Archie Browning Sports Centre and on Lyall Street. Attendees are encouraged to use alternative modes of transportation to enjoy the festivities.
