A construction project to extend the apparatus bays in Esquimalt’s Public Safety Building will commence during the week of September 12-16, 2016.

A portion of the parking lot will be closed for the next several weeks in order to do foundation work for the extension and to create a “laydown area” for debris and construction materials.

Fencing will be erected in the parking lot to define the laydown area, an excavator will be on site, and trucks will be in and out of the site to remove construction material.

An addition is being added to the north side of the building in order to extend the current emergency vehicle bays.

The renovation will provide necessary space to relocate a fire truck and emergency equipment currently located within an old public works building on Esquimalt Town Square (ETS) lands. This building will be removed from the lands as part of the ETS development in the fall of 2016.
