CFB Esquimalt Public Service Announcement
Residents in the vicinity of CFB Esquimalt may hear noise as a result of controlled blasting beginning August 17th, 2018. Blasting will occur once a week, 7 to 10 p.m. and is expected to continue until approximately October 1st, 2018.
This work must be conducted during high tide to support environmental mitigation efforts at CFB Esquimalt.
It will be limited to a controlled site and poses no danger to neighbouring residents. Pre-blast signals (12 short whistles) followed by the All-Clear (5 second whistle) will likely be the only audible noise for residents as blasting activities are small in scale, very limited in scope, and conducted by experts with extensive experience.
