To celebrate the arrival of spring, the Habitat Acquisition Trust (HAT) is hosting the Matson Spring Fling and Pollinator Festival on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Matson Conservation Area, located on the Esquimalt end of the West Song Walkway.
Join HAT at this informative event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to learn more about native plants, pollinators, and land conservation.
The event will feature guided nature walks and talks, with a focus on native fauna and pollinator species. Local hummingbird expert, Eric Pittman, will speak at 10:15 a.m. about the ecological roles of these feathered pollinators, and may provide some helpful hints as to where to find their nests. Lori Weidenhammer, the renowned "Beespeaker" will follow at 1 p.m. Lori is the author of 'Victory Gardens for Bees,” a guide to planning bee-friendly spaces around our homes and gardens.
Snacks will be provided by HAT. Drop in any time or RSVP to email@example.com.
